It's almost the weekend!  This week has gone by crazy fast!  I can't wait to share with you my picks for this week's top 5 family events!  This weekend we have festivals, sporting events, and a beekeeping demonstration.  If you go to any of these events I would love to hear what you think of them.  Feel free to leave any comments below.

1. National Folk Festival - September 7-9th - Hours Vary

Downtown Salisbury, MD

The National Folk Festival is the perfect addition to your weekend.  They will have music, food, dancing, workshops, demonstrations, and parades.  And best of all, they have a family area with tons of stuff for your kids to do.  They will have make and take activities, dancers, singers, crafts, and games.  Plus it's free!!!

2. Washington National vs. Chicago Cubs - September 8th - 7:05pm

Nationals Park

1500 South Capitol St. SE

Washingtion DC 20003

My family and I went to a Nationals game last weekend and it was a blast!  Now granted we were rooting for the Brewers, so we were in the minority wearing our Brewers gear.  But it was the perfect family outing.  The kids had cotton candy, the Brewers won....how much more perfect can it get?!  Saturday the Nationals are playing the Cubs!  It's a night game so the weather will be great!  Just FYI, take the train.  It's a short walk to the stadium from the Metro.

3. Navy vs Memphis - September 8th - 3:30pm

Navy - Marine Corps Memorial Stadium

550 Taylor Avenue

Annapolis, MD  21401

If you're not a fan of baseball but love to watch football then this game is a great family outing. This is where I will be this weekend!  The stadium has a big grassy seating area perfect for the kids who don't want to sit through the whole game.  Go Navy!

4. Maryland Seafood Festival - September 8th and 9th - 10am-9pm

Sandy Point State Park

1100 East College Parkway

Annapolis, MD  21409

The Seafood Festival is always a local favorite.  There will be tons of food, family activities, and demonstrations.  Some of the food vendors include: Stan & Joe's Saloon, Mister Fish, Jailhouse Brewing Co., and Timber Pizza.  For the kids there will be entertainment, bouncy houses, the FishMobile, and the Raptor's Eye display.  There will also be plenty of food demonstrations as well as food contests.  General admission is $15 and kids 12 and under are free!

5. Beekeeping Demonstration - September 8th - 11am-12pm

Quiet Waters Park

600 Quiet Waters Park Road

Annapolis, MD  21403

https://www.aacounty.org/departments/recreation-parks/parks/quiet-waters/index.html

The Anne Arundel County Master Gardener Beekeeping Project will talk about beekeeping, why the population is declining and what we can do to help the bees.  They will also have an observation hive so that guests can see the bees at work without getting stung.  The talk is appropriate for adults and children.  The cost to get into the park is $6 (military is free) and the event is free.
