Top 5 Family Events DC and Northern Virginia April 13th-15th

The weather is FINALLY starting to warm up.  I'm hoping the warmth is here to stay.  This weekend is the perfect chance to enjoy our spring weather.  Here are my Top 5 Family Events in DC and Northern Virginia for April 13th-15th

1. Spring Blossom Rail Excursion - April 14th from 9am-12pm

The Rappahannock Railroad Museum is having a rail excursion this Saturday.  They will be concentrating on just giving rides on the train instead doing train rides and having a display.  Every ride lasts 30 minutes.  The kids will love this!

2. Eggapalooza 2018 - April 14th from 9am-1pm

B101.5 will be holding its annual Eggapalooza at Central Park Fun Land in Fredericksburg.  Kids age 4-15 will have the opportunity to create an egg holder that will then be dropped from the top of a ladder truck.  If your egg survives you have the opportunity to win $500 and half your weight in candy.  You must register for this event in order to participate.  Everyone who enters will receive a $10 Fun Land gift card.

3.  28th Annual Multicultural Fair - April 14th from 10am-5pm

University of Mary Washington

The annual Multicultural Fair at University of Maryland fosters multicultural awareness.  This year there will be multicultural performances, children activities, international and American food, and craft vendors.  This event happens rain or shine and is very popular!

4. Fit History - Hike Chatham to the Port of Falmouth - April 14th at 10am

Join Historian John Hennesy for a hike from Chatham to Falmouth.  During the hike he will talk about the history of enslavement, the Civil War, and freedom.  This is a four mile hike so be sure to bring your walking shoes, water, sun screen and bug spray.

5. The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade - April 14th from 10am-12pm

Constitution Avenue – From 7th to 17th Streets, NW

Do not miss this signature DC event!  The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade is Saturday from 10am-12pm.  The parade will include balloons, marching bands, celebrities, floats, and performers.  If you want a guaranteed seat, then visit the website above for tickets.  You can also watch for free anywhere along the parade route.  Make sure to get there early as seats go fast.  For all of the details (parking, street closures, Metro plans, etc) click on the link above.
